Providing your child a safe space to explore their feelings
Based in Rallentando, New Abbey, my room is designed to be a regulating environment for children - an anchor to help navigate their emotions and find their inner little calm space.
Provided by a Play Therapy UK (PTUK) Registered Play Therapist.
I work with children from 4-13, drawing on extensive experience working with children and their familes in both educational and therapeutic settings. I follow the Play Therapy UK’s Ethical Framework, which ensures the wellbeing of your child above all else.

What is Play Therapy?
It is not always easy for children and many young people to verbally express their thoughts, feelings and experiences. Play therapy therefore employs the natural language of play and the creative arts, as a form of self-expression. This could include art, music, drama and sand play.
Play Therapy is used to address a wide range of childhood challenges, including emotional difficulties, behavioural issues, and family disruptions. With the play therapy toolkit and a calm, safe environment provided by the therapist, children can explore their difficulties and gently bring unconscious thoughts and feelings to the conscious level.
We use a mainly non-directive approach, encouraging our ‘clients’ to access their own inner resources for problem solving and conflict resolution. This approach builds self-esteem, enabling children to develop greater confidence in themselves and their own abilities.
